George Arredondo Sr.

George Arredondo, Sr. is an Arizona native born and raised in Coolidge AZ on a cotton, cattle, hay, and grain farm.

In 1985 he went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Farm Service Agency (FSA) for 18-years, working in leadership positions at the County, State, and National levels. Under the Clinton administration he served as the FSA Associate Administrator for Operations and Management and Arizona FSA State Executive Director. His federal civilian service continued with the U.S Navy and U.S. Army, as a Telecommunications Specialist and Information Systems Technician, managing various projects, retiring after 32-years of federal service.

At the age of 34 Mr. Arredondo joined the U. S. Navy Reserves and reached the top enlisted rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, retiring after 22-years of service. He served as an expert in the Communications and Information Technology field, and a Senior Enlisted Leader/Advisor for various Units.

Arredondo served three combat tours in the Middle East with NATO Special Operations Component Command/Special Operations Joint Task Force, Afghanistan; International Security Assistance Force-Joint Command, Afghanistan; and Navy Forward Dissemination Element-Detachment Foxtrot, Iraq.

Active-duty tours included Commander Pacific Fleet headquarters, Pearl Harbor, HI; Naval Special Warfare Unit Ten, Special Operations Command Africa, Germany; and European Technical Center, U.S. European Commander, Germany.

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal with “C” (Combat) device; Navy Commendation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation (4), and various unit, campaign, and service awards, including the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Medal (2).

He has farmed in the past and is currently operating a small cattle ranch. In 2022, he was elected to the Coolidge Unified School District Governing Board, where he attended school and later taught for three years as a teacher. He is also a former Councilmember of the City of Coolidge.

Mr. Arredondo is a Graduate of the U.S. Navy War College, Senior Enlisted Academy, in Rhode Island. Holds two master’s degrees, Master of Science in Government Information Leadership-Cyber from the National Defense University, Washington DC; Master of Education, from Northern Arizona University; and Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He’s currently working on his third Master’s in Legal Studies at Arizona State University. He is married to Monica, and together they have seven children and eighteen grandchildren.
